CACE is announcing our next Darebin Climate Emergency Forums
Monday - May 29 - Fairfield Uniting Church 85 Gillies St Fairfield (see the Facebook event) Thursday - June 1 - Alphington Bowls Club (see the Facebook event) Learn about global warming and the climate emergency. Hear from a diverse range of stakeholders on how we can reverse global warming, what personal action you can take and how you can support the climate emergency response that is starting in Darebin and can save the things we care about. Speakers include: Bryony Edwards (CACE / Save the Planet) – Bryony has campaigned on the climate emergency for 8 years. Bryony will MC the event and outline how we can help our major parties adopt a climate emergency platform. Philip Sutton (RSTI (Research and Strategy for Transition Initiation Inc.)) – expert on global warming. Philip will explain in simple terms why we are facing a true climate emergency and what needs to be done to save the planet. Richard Keech (Beyond Zero Emissions) – Richard is part of the team at Beyond Zero Emissions, an expert on home energy and energy efficiency, and author of the book The Energy-Freedom Home. Richard will outline how you can save money and the planet at the same time, and how we can run our grid on 100% renewable energy. Mary Rolf (Transition Banyule) – Mary will outline how we can build resilience in our communities to better cope with global warming. Carol Ride (Darebin Climate Action Now) - Carol will present some amazing national and local climate emergency actions you can help with, including the Climate Emergency Declaration. Mark Allen (3CR Presenter, Population and Planning Campaigner and Vegan Nutritionist) - will explain the critical role our diet has in global warming. Comments are closed.
